Uganda: Seventh Poverty Reduction Support Operation (PRSC7)

WASHINGTON, May 6, 2008 – The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA Credit : US$200 million

 

TERMS: Maturity = 40 years; Grace = 10 years

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION :  The PRSC7 is the third and final annual budget support operation that supports Uganda’s third Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP), which covers the period 2005 to 2008. Its support can be grouped broadly into four areas: reforms to enhance productivity and competitiveness (investment climate and rural development); effective delivery of social services (health, education, water sector programs, and decentralization); public sector management (budget execution, public financial management, procurement, and anti-corruption); and gender, infant and maternal mortality, and population growth.
