Nepal: Emergency Peace Support Project

WASHINGTON, May 6, 2008 – The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA Grant:  US$50 million

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Emergency Peace Support Project will help support the government fulfill the commitments made under the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the subsequent 23-Point Agreement.  The project will finance payments and reintegration of Nepalis affected by the conflict, including widows and orphans and disabled people.
