Mauritania: Business Environment Enhancement Project

WASHINGTON, May 22, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

IDA Credit: USD$ 5 Million

TERMS: Maturity = 40 Years; Grace Period = 10 Years

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Business Environment Enhancement Project aims to support the government of Mauritania’s efforts to enhance the business climate through improvement in the financial, legal and judiciary sectors, and regulatory environment for business, and the support of measures to restructure selected Public Enterprise (PEs). This will facilitate private sector led growth investment in the economy and improve the services of the PEs that directly impact private sector growth and development.
