Morocco: Office National De L’Electricite (ONE) Support Project

WASHINGTON, June 10, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IBRD Loan: US$ 150 Million

TERMS: Maturity = 25Years; Grace Period = 5 Years

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Office National de l' Electricite (ONE) Support Project for Morocco aims to support the Government of Morocco’s efforts to increase the efficiency and reliability of electricity supply. This objective will be achieved through: (i) strengthening of the transmission and distribution infrastructure and supporting reductions in overall technical losses; (ii) support to Demand Side Management (DSM) programs to reduce electricity demand growth; (iii) promotion of wind generation; and (iv) assistance to ONE to adjust to a new market environment.
