West Africa Transport and Transit Facilitation Project

WASHINGTON, June 19, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

West Africa Transport and Transit Facilitation Project

 

IDA CREDIT:  US$190 million

TERMS:  Maturity = 40 Years; Grace Period = 10 Years

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The West Africa Transport and Transit Facilitation Project aims to improve access by Burkina Faso and Mali to Ghanaian ports, as well as improve port operations and facilitate the efficient movement of traffic along the Tema - Ouagadougou - Bamako transport corridor. The project also aims to support the implementation of the first phase of the WAEMU/Ghana’s Road Program I (RP-I) program.
