Malawi: Agricultural Development Program Support Project

WASHINGTON, June 24, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA Credit: US$32 million

TERMS: Maturity = 40 Years; Grace Period = 10  Years

GEF Grant: US$5.8 million

Project Description: The Agriculture Development Programme Support Project (ADP-SP) aims to improve the effectiveness of investments aimed at food security and sustainable agricultural growth. The global environmental objective is to strengthen the natural resource base in agricultural lands through doubling the area under sustainable land management as a basis for securing ecosystem services and sustainable agricultural productivity.
