Kyrgyz Republic - Capacity Building For Economic Management

WASHINGTON, July 1, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA Grant: US$3.0 million

Program Description:  The project aims to support the Government in establishing and institutionalizing a sound framework and capacity for economic policy making and implementation.  This will be done through formal establishment of a mechanism for economic coordination at the centre of Government; strengthening the capacity of Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Finance to fulfill an effective role in macro-economic analytical work and policy development; and development of capacity in the Government to carry out pay and grading reform in the civil service.
