Mali: Household Energy and Universal Rural Access (HEURA) Project [Additional Financing]

WASHINGTON, September 4, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA Credit: US$35 Million

TERMS: Maturity = 40 years; Grace= 10years

Project Description: The Household Energy and Universal Rural Access (HEURA) Project for Mali will support the Government of Mali's efforts to increase the access of isolated low income populations to basic energy services to help achieve economic growth and poverty reduction targets, including those linked with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The project has the following three components: 1) Capacity Development and Institutional Strengthening; 2) Energy services delivery; and 3) Scaling up and strengthening of the former Household Energy Project (HEP)
