TOKYO, December 10, 2008—Economies in East Asia and the Pacific are also being hit by the global economic downturn. That has serious implications for the region’s people, especially in the short term.But, according to a new report from the World Bank, East Asian and Pacific countries are entering the global slowdown in a better position than many other developing countries.
