Georgia: Secondary and Local Roads Project (SLRP)

WASHINGTON, March 19, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

  

IDA Credit: US$70 Million

Terms:  Maturity = 30 years; Grace period = 5

Project Description:  The loan permits the continuation and scaling up of the original US$20 million Secondary and Local Roads Project (SLRP), which was approved in June 2004 to support the Government’s efforts in upgrading and rehabilitating secondary and local roads networks, and strengthening the capacity of the Roads Department. The SLRP consists of three components aimed at rehabilitating secondary and local roads, strengthening the capacity of road sector institutions, and improving design and supervision of the road works.
