Indonesia: Urban Community Empowerment Project Additional Financing

WASHINGTON, April 14, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

IBRD Loan: US$115 million

TERMS:  Maturity = 24.5 years; Grace period = 9 years

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The additional financing will help support the National Program for Community Empowerment’s (PNPM’s) urban project components, which include (a) community and local government capacity building for social intermediation activities, community training, and training of local government staff on the PNPM; (b) block grants for kelurahans to execute the sub-projects identified in the community development plans; and (c) consultants and facilitators to assist in project implementation.
