Poland: Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Human Capital Development Policy Program

WASHINGTON, June 30, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

Poland: Employment, Entrepreneurship, and

Human Capital Development Policy Program

 

IBRD Loan: €1 billion

Terms: Maturity = 30 years; Grace period = 5 years

Project ID: P116125     

 

Project Description: The Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Human Capital Development Policy program in Poland will support reforms to public financial management, and improvements of labor market efficiency, as well as structural improvements to the finance and provision of health, education and social protection.  The operation will support structural reforms that will ensure fiscal consolidation over the medium-term, protect priority programs and the up-front fiscal costs of structural reforms critical to meeting Poland’s goals of EU convergence and mitigate the social cost of the financial crisis.
