India: Andhra Pradesh Rural Waters Supply and Sanitation Project

WASHINGTON, September 22, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

IDA Credit: US$150 million equivalent

Terms: Maturity = 35 years; Grace Period = 10 years

Project ID: P101650

 

Project Description: The Andhra Pradesh Rural Waters Supply and Sanitation Project for India aims to assist the Government of Andhra Pradesh in improving rural water supply and sanitation services through progressive decentralization, community participation and enhanced accountability. It will support the building of institutional capacity for implementing, managing and sustaining the project activities, along with sector development studies to inform policy decisions, and support improvements in water supply and sanitation services in the project habitations through new infrastructure or rehabilitating and augmenting existing infrastructure.
