WASHINGTON, October 15, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project: IDA Grant: US$4.5 million equivalent Project ID: P097818 Project Description: The Sustainable Energy Development Project aims to improve policy and institutional framework of the renewable energy and energy efficiency sub-sectors and increase private sector participation in the renewable energy sector. This is achieved by building capacity in the Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA) and the local private sector to design, launch, and monitor sustainable energy projects drawing on renewable energy technologies and resources that can be developed in Rwanda.
