Central African Republic and the Republic of Cameroon: CEMAC Transport and Transit Facilitation Project [Additional Financing]

WASHINGTON, November 5, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following projects:

 

IDA Grant (Central African Republic): US$67 million equivalent

IDA Credit (Republic of Cameroon): US$150 million equivalent

Terms: Maturity = 40 years; Grace Period = 10 years

Project ID: P115259

 

Project Description: The Transport and Transit Facilitation Project for the Central African Republic and the Republic of Cameroon aims to facilitate regional trade among the CEMAC member states and improve access to world markets for the Central African Republic, the Republic of Cameroon, and the Republic of Chad. The additional financing will help finance the costs associated with: (a) the completion of some of the original Project activities, most of which were funded by other donors and (b) the enhancement of the project's capacity to achieve its objectives.
