Financial Infrastructure Week 2011

Begins:   Dec 10, 2010
Ends:   Dec 10, 2013

For the first time, the World Bank Group gathered financial infrastructure practitioners from around the World for Financial Infrastructure Week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil March 14-17, 2011.

Financial Infrastructure Week combined both a full day of common plenary sessions and three different streams:

  • Payment Systems - "Expanding the Horizons of Payment System Development"
  • Credit Reporting - "Moving beyond the Crisis – The Role of Credit Reporting"
  • Secured Transactions - "Increasing Access to Credit through Secured Transactions Reform".

The World Bank Group is a leader in financial infrastructure development in emerging markets, including payment systems and remittances, credit reporting and secured lending/collateral registries.

The three programs have organized a number of events and conferences to raise awareness and disseminate best practices in their respective arenas.  The payment systems stream is the fourth global conference organized for payment systems specialists.
