Washington February 2, 2012 – The World Bank announced today that it has received an official request from the Egyptian authorities to support their economic program. Egypt has requested $1 billion in the form of a Development Policy Loan (DPL). Inger Andersen, Vice President at the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa, said the Bank will now open discussions with Egyptian government representatives to work out the details.
