Poland - World Bank Group Business Seminar in Warsaw

A seminar on business opportunities with the World Bank Group was co-organized by the Polish PSLO Michal Gorzelak from the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) and The World Bank Office in Warsaw.

PAIiIZ President Slawomir Majman opened the seminar, thereafter Mr. Gorzelak gave an overview of the principles of the aid funded business model. Anna Kowalczyk, Communications Associate at the World Bank in Poland presented essential data about the WBG and its current activities in Eastern Europe. The focus of the seminar were the presentations given by Barbara Ziolkowska, Procurement Analyst from The World Bank Office in Warsaw, who described procurement and contracting processes, and Bertrand Marchais, the MIGA Liaison for Europe, who spoke of non-commercial risk insurance for investors and lenders. A session on the information services offered by the PSLO closed the seminar.

Over 40 persons attended, coming mainly from the business sector. Consulting companies prevailed, followed by representatives of the construction and ICT branche.
