Since 1998, the DM has awarded more than $46 million to some 1,000 early-stage, innovative projects worldwide. DM projects are selected for their: Innovation - In concept (new technology, process, use), delivery (i.e. financing, partnership, target group) or area of implementation;     Potential for Growth – Extent to which the project can be scaled up to reach additional beneficiaries;     Measurability - Projects have demonstrated benefits for the target population;     Realism - Projects have a realistic implementation time frame and budget; and     Sustainability – Project teams display the organizational capacity and financial viability to carry on operations beyond the DM funding phase.
