Development Marketplace offers in-house support to its winners. It also shares useful tips on developing business planning skills and honing proposal writing skills. IN HOUSE SUPPORT consists of general assistance thought the implementation process, project promotion and information dissemination. Upon winning a DM grant, each project is assigned a World Bank project adviser from the country office where the project is being implemented. Teams can call upon their adviser to help structure and guide the project during implementation. Team advisers can also help: Ensure that project teams have access to the Bank Group's relevant sector and country knowledge during implementation; Monitor the progress of the project team and track its accomplishments; and Evaluate and distribute lessons learned for potential replication elsewhere in the Bank and the wider development community.
This kind of assistance does not necessarily end when the DM funding period expires, but can extend beyond the life of the grant as circumstances necessitate. The DM team works to increase the exposure of past winners and highlight their accomplishments through its website, a regular online newsletter with a distribution list of more than 5,000 readers, articles on the World Bank's internal homepage, networking with the media, etc. Click here to sign up for the DM newsletter. The DM team supports successful DM winners through the dissemination of knowledge internally and externally to the World Bank. They are provided with information on successful methods and best practices from the World Bank and other international and local service providers. The team also provides a forum for DM winners to share ideas and experiences amongst each other. Snapshot of the DM Project Implementation Process
