The World Bank’s Operations Policy and Country Services (OPCS) Vice Presidency has worked over the past year with the Bank’s Development Economics Data Group to markedly expand the data coverage of key economic, financial, and social indicators of small states. This effort has produced the inaugural publication of what will be an annual Small States Supplement to on eof the Bank’s flagship publications, World Development Indicators. Data coverage consists of 15 tables that capture:
- the size of the economy;
- the Millennium Development Goals (poverty, hunger, education, gender, child mortality);
- the Millennium Development Goals (maternal health, HIV/AIDS, environmental sustainability, Internet access)
- people and poverty;
- participation in education;
- health;
- the labor market;
- agriculture and forestry;
- energy and emissions;
- economic activity;
- the private and public sectors;
- transport, communications services, and technology;
- aid dependency;
- trade; and
- global links
