The Accountancy Development for Results Global Conference convened high-level participants, including government officials, accounting professionals, academics, and international organizations, including the donor community. The main purpose of the conference is to promote greater awareness of the importance of developing accounting and auditing practices to achieve results, particularly economic growth and job creation.

Day One focuses on taking stock of the various initiatives that have been undertaken to strengthen accounting and audit practices around the world, and will serve as a forum for the sharing of good practices and innovative approaches to corporate financial reporting reform.

For the morning of Day Two, the Professional Accountancy Development Committee will hold an SME–SMP Workshop to give partner country Professional Accountancy Organizations and the World Bank the opportunity to share their experience in addressing the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small and medium-sized audit practitioners (SMPs) in the area of corporate financial reporting. The afternoon session will be organized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
