Public Works III Additional Financing (Cr. 4419-RY): The objective is the same as the original project, consisting of about 243 sub-projects (targeted mainly at the rural population) for the rehabilitation and/or extension of infrastructure works throughout the 20 governorates of Yemen. The objective is to continue providing the needed infrastructure to improve services and environmental conditions, especially those affecting women and children, and create short-term employment. The project would seek to ensure the sustainability of these measures through: (i) community involvement in sub-project selection, preparation and implementation; and (ii) development of local contracting and consulting industry. The additional financing would be provided for the three main components.
