About Us

The Fragile and Conflict-Affected Countries Group (OPCFC) coordinates the World Bank’s response to states facing situations of fragility or grappling with conflicts. It seeks to improve the effectiveness of development aid in these countries. The unit develops and implements the Bank’s agenda on conflict and fragility across the organization.

OPCFC serves as the corporate focal point, while other networks and regions in the Bank support the fragile and conflict-affected countries agenda through dedicated work programs in their specialized areas. OPCFC also manages the State- and Peace-Building Fund, which addresses the governance and peace-building needs of fragile and conflicted-affected situations.
