The Global Fund for Community Foundations Grants Programs

The Global Fund's programs provide grants primarily to community foundations in developing and transitioning countries, though in some instances support organizations will also be eligible. The programs aim to provide practical support which can be given progressively over several years. Fund staff will work with applicants to ensure they make best use of the types of assistance available. A financial or in-kind commitment from local sources will be expected if a grant is made. Successful applicants will be required to participate in the Fund’s evaluation program, which aims not only to improve the design and delivery of grantmaking, but also to identify useful experiences that can be shared. The Global Fund has three grants programs: (a) Organizational Development; (b) Challenge Grants, and (c) Learning and Sharing.

The Global Fund for Community Foundations is a program of the Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS).  The WINGS Global Fund for Community Foundations receives support from the World Bank, among other donors.
