PROFOR  is a multi-donor partnership for sustainable forest management hosted at the World Bank that supports country-driven participatory processes for forest management, such as national forest programmes (NFP), through the provision of knowledge on strategic thematic areas and capacity building to apply such knowledge. PROFOR is an independent programme, governed by a management board comprised of international donors, UN agencies, partner organizations and country representatives.

Conservation International-World Bank Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund: The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) advances global conservation so that the rich sources of biological diversity, the communities they comprise and the services they provide can be sustained. The purpose of the Fund is to serve as a catalyst to create strategic working alliances among diverse groups, combining unique capacities and eliminating duplication of efforts for a comprehensive, coordinated approach to conservation challenges. The Fund builds on the strengths of its investors: Conservation International, Global Environmental Facility's (GEF), MacArthur Foundation, and the World Bank.

CEPF investments support projects such as the management of protected areas and protection of biodiversity corridors, training, transboundary planning, encouraging local dialogue with extractive industries, engaging in conflict resolution, priority setting and consensus building, strengthening indigenous organizations, and facilitating partnerships between the private sector and protected areas.

World Bank/WWF Alliance for Forest Conservation and Sustainable Use: The World Bank-World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Forest Alliance was launched in April 1998. Within this framework, the World Bank and the WWF work with governments, the private sector, and civil society to significantly reduce the loss and degradation of all forest types worldwide. The Alliance promotes forest conservation and the adoption of international best practices in forest management.
