Montreal Protocol

The World Bank Group is one of four implementing agencies of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol. The objective of the World Bank as an implementing agency is to help client countries accomplish their ozone protection objectives through strategic planning, policy formulation, and technical support in project identification, preparation and implementation.

The Bank has developed a strong partnership between the Multilateral Fund and the World Bank since its establishment in 1990 and continues to assist the Multilateral Fund in accomplishing its objective by obtaining the appropriate measures to protect human health and the environment against adverse effects resulting, or likely to result, from human activities which modify, or are likely, to modify the ozone layer.
