The World Bank's Water Supply and Sanitation Program focuses on the provision of efficient sustainable water supply and sanitation services for all. It covers areas such as WaterService Extension for the Urban Poor, Operator Performance Improvement, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, and Sanitation and Hygiene. The Bank's Water Resources Management covers many dimensions of water resources management, including Coastal and Marine Management, Dams and Reservoirs, Groundwater, Irrigation and Drainage, River Basin Management, and International Waters, and Watershed Management. Water sector and the environment is linked directly through impacts on rivers, watersheds, and marine environments and indirectly through impacts on human health from water consumption and wastewater treatment.  Please note that external sites are not endorsed by the World Bank Group.  General Documents and Links  World Bank Environmental Assessment Sourcebook Chapter 9: Population Health and Nutrition; Urban Development; Transportation; and Water Supply and Sewerage (1999)
