blue bullet Bibliography on Strategic Environmental Assessment (by M. Partidario, New University of Lisbon, 1996).  This is a comprehensive bibliography on SEA prepared in collaboration with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the North American Treaty Organization.  

blue bullet Calabash Project web site (Southern African Institute for Environmental Assessment).  This project aims to identify and expand opportunities for civil society involvement in decision-making through environmental assessment processes, and to define issues, options, approaches and tools for integrating environmental planning, assessment and management into small-scale community driven developments. The web site contains case studies, generic terms of reference, and participation handbook.   

 

blue bullet Hong Kong Strategic Environmental Assessment (Government of Hong Kong Environmetal Protection Department).  This web site contains a list of SEA materials in Hong Kong, including a SEA Manual, completed SEAs, TORs (Study Briefs), and a SEA workshop information. 

 

blue bullet IAIA Principles of Environmental Assessment Best Practice (International Association for Impact Assessment and Institute of Environmental Assessment UK, 1999).  This document, IAIA Principles of EIA Best Practice, describes the purposes, aims, and approach used to develop the Principles; and presents the definition of EIA, its objectives, and the Principles of EIA Best Practice.

blue bullet Netherlands Commission for Environmental Impact Assessment (NCEA). The Netherlands Commission has a searchable database and library for EIA and SEA documentation. The resource consists of case studies, manuals and articles. Reviews of SEAs are also available in the project database.

 

blue bullet UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in a Transboundary Context - SEA Manual website.  The final draft (April 2007) of the Resource Manual to Support Application of the Protocol on SEA is available on this web site.   

 

blue bullet UNEP EIA Training Resource Manual 2nd Edition (2002).  This manual, papapred for the United Nations Environment Programme, addresses issues such as encompassing transboundary effects; assessing the impact of trade policies, budgets, structural adjustment programmes, national plans and projects of a regional nature; and developing methodologies to ensure transparency in the process and involve public participation.
