Indonesia successfully hosted the first World Oceans Conference in Manado, in May 2009. What were the results of this Conference? What does the Manado Declaration mean for Indonesia? What is the relationship between oceans and climate change? How can this issue be brought into the climate negotiations prior to the Copenhagen COP?

Latest Environment and Natural Resources Debate Forum on World Bank held with topic: "Oceans and Climate Change: What Next After the World Ocean Conference?". Presented by Dr. Gellwyn Yusuf, the Head of the Research Agency for Marine and Fisheries, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and the Organizing Committee for World Ocean Conference (WOC) May 2009.

The session also included comments from Mr. Fitrian Ardiansyah, Program Director for Climate and Energy, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Indonesia.
