The World Bank Group (WBG) has embarked on the preparation of a new Environment Strategy, expected to be completed and approved by Spring 2011.

The new Strategy will articulate a set of principles and propose an approach for achieving the environmental sustainability of the WBG’sportfolio.

During the first phase we consulted with stakeholders in all regions and developed 13 background Analytical Papers to inform the Strategy.

A total of sixty-six face-to-face
 consultation meetings were held between October 2009 and June 2010, attended by 2,300 participants representing a broad range of stakeholders from 126 countries.
