The World Bank has been involved in Cambodia’s forestry sector to help improve forest management, law enforcement, monitoring, and access to information about developments in the sector.  Â
The EAP regional forest program has encountered major obstacles in Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea, relating to adverse developments in governance in these countries. The Bank has had relatively little participation in the forests sector of Indonesia in recent years, in the face of a seriously deteriorating situation in the forests in that country. In 2001 the Bank helped to organize the East Asia Forest Law Enforcement and Governance and continues to support follow-up action.  Table 2.
