Developing Leadership Capacity: From Design to Impact
Over the past few years, the World Bank and the World Bank Institute have delivered a growing number of leadership programs to support motivated leaders in defining concrete objectives, setting priorities and delivering results.
The growing demand for these leadership interventions highlights the need for a clearer way of defining this work and measuring its impact. The aim of this lunchtime discussion was to look at the recent experiences in two countries in Africa and to examine how leadership capacity could be developed in the pursuit meaningful results.
The lunch featured an introduction to the support provided by the World Bank to capacity development interventions in leadership by Moira Hart-Poliquin . This was followed by a presentation on the lessons learned and evaluation approaches to measuring capacity growth in leadership by Dorte Kabell and Laura Bailey. The debate discussant was Ronnie Hammad and the session was moderated by Mark Nelson of the Capacity Development Unit, WBI.
