Leadership and Development - WBI: Leadership Capacity Development Program

WBI: Leadership Capacity Development Program

The Leadership Capacity Development Program offers customized support to government, civil society, and private sector leaders looking for innovative solutions to tough development challenges. The World Bank Institute is the principle capacity development arm of the World Bank. The World Bank Institute has been involved in the design and delivery of a large number of leadership interventions in consultation with and in support of national-level leaders based on their identified capacity development needs. (See In-country Leadership Program activities)

Improving governance and fighting corruption through leadership development are the focus of the WBI private sector development team. The Business, Competitiveness and Development Team, seeks to address the need for a better understanding of the role business can play in leadership development issues, particularly through multi-stakeholder partnerships. The program also aims at building capacity to facilitate effective multi-stakeholder approaches, where potential outcomes include the development of capacity in the areas of corporate governance and responsibility, accountability, transparency, leadership and anti-corruption strategies.
