Call for Cases
WBI is looking for examples of discrete capacity-building interventions that helped leaders or leadership teams to initiate or manage major change initiatives that delivered concrete development results (e.g. Rapid Results Initiatives and Transformational Leadership Projects). This research is a key part of its effort to document and understand the role of leadership in development and thus provide better support to leaders.
The attachment below provides the details on the call for case studies.
Call for Cases (MS Word 34Kb)
Leadership is emerging as a hot topic on the development agenda for 2008 onward. WBI, (with UNDP, CIDA, DFID, and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs), has formed the Global Leadership Initiative (GLI) to support this agenda.
GLI’s new research project seeks to capture the importance and impact of effective leadership. It will examine how donor organizations and others have designed and delivered leadership development services aimed at supporting leaders in their efforts to drive change and achieve results.
The project's first phase is a broad stock-taking of discrete capacity building interventions where leadership development support services made a difference to achieving development outcomes. Phase Two will produce a set of in-depth country case studies of interventions that have had impact at the organizational/institutional level.
