• In 2004, the ECD team, UNICEF, UNESCO/IIEP, and the ADEA ECD Working Group joined forces to address the needs of young children affected by the AIDS pandemic. 
• The ECD team partnered with Christian Children’s Fund, the Arab Resource Collective, the International Step by Step Association and other regional and local civil society organizations to build capacity of ECD providers, specialists, and policymakers in developing countries.   The goal of ADEA WGECD is to encourage and support national governments in Africa that commit to and invest in ECD. The WGECD is currently under the leadership of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
