The Youth 2 Youth Community (Y2Y)'s & The Africa Region (AFR)  Announce a Call for Proposals to  An Innovative Fund on Youth Reintegration into Society in Africa Post Conflict Countries  Y2Y's Youth Innovation Fund and the Africa Region launch the first round of the AFR Youth Innovation Fund to create opportunities for young professionals at the Bank to (a) actively channel the collective ideas, knowledge and energy of young people inside and outside the World Bank Group into the institution as stakeholders in development, and (b) build partnerships between these two groups to empower youth as catalysts for change.  In coordination with the AFR Vice Presidency, this Fund will be applicable to projects in the Africa post conflict countries. The total corpus for the Fund is USD 40,000. Y2Y and AFR encourage applications from all young staff (32 years of age or younger), including YPs, JPAs, ACS and consultants. An Informational Seminar will be held on Feb 1st at 12:30 pm in J10-44 to provide a forum for discussion on application procedures and answer questions from interested applicants.  AFR YIF seeks applications for projects targeted to help youth in post conflict countries to reintegrate into society. Fund applications demonstrating the utilization of innovative approaches to project preparation, involving country participation, embracing cross-sectoral and cross-country activities and/or partnerships with local institutions will be given priority. Selection of successful proposals will be made by a Senior Selection Committee. Successful grant recipients will be awarded nine months to implement their projects. The outcomes of the projects will feed into future programs targeting youth, with the vision of institutionalizing the voice of youth in the development process.  For application materials and instructions, please visit AFR Youth Innovation Fund FY07/08 For more details, contact Jessie He at youthcommunity@worldbank.org.  |
