Under the Debt Management Practitioners Program (DMPP), government officials from debt management offices in DMF-eligible countries are invited to join the Economic Policy and Debt Department (PRMED) of the World Bank for a three-month period. Selected candidates participate directly in the DMF work program, including participation in missions and training.

The objective of the program is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience while exposing the debt managers to cross-countries practices.

The next DMPP selection process will start in May, 2012.

Given the large number of DMF eligible countries, we can only accept one application per country. The following criteria would be required for a participant to apply:

• Debt Management Professional staff in a Debt Management Office who is currently employed by the government at a mid-level technical position.
• Must have a 4-year degree from an accredited University, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in Government, Central Bank or in the private sector.
• Good working knowledge of English, both in oral presentations and writing.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word.

Candidates are asked to apply online and submit a Statement of Interest as well as their CV.

The program will cover the following costs for the participant during the assignment*:

• Travel: a round trip economy fare ticket from home country to Washington D.C.
• Settling-In Grant
• Living Allowance
• Housing Allowance

The releasing agency/government institutions would continue to cover the salary of the participants during their assignments. More information will be provided upon request.

*Costs for participant's family members are not covered.
