HIGHER EDUCATION REFORM IN THE COUNTRIES OF EUROPE AND CENTRAL ASIA
As part of its ongoing tertiary education program of activities, during June 2005, the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia Education Team hosted a series of workshops in three new EU member countries to address key issues in Higher Education Reform. These workshops, in Warsaw, Riga and Bratislava, were attended by approximately 150 participants from about 20 countries and will lead up to the World Bank’s Second Regional Education Conference, Tertiary Education: Quality, Financing and Linkages to Innovation and Productivity in October in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
