From Elitism to Inclusion: Expanding opportunities through secondary education

The objective of this seminar is to facilitate the exchange of experiences among client countries as well as to present and discuss the new World Bank policy on secondary education. Good quality secondary education is considered a prerequisite for the successful integration of youth in the labor market and for a modern economy to compete successfully in the new globalized knowledge-based economy and several countries in Latin America are implementing important secondary education reforms. Thus, committed to assisting World Bank member countries to identify and implement their next strategic steps in the national education reform process, the Latin America and the Caribbean Region and Education group, in close collaboration with the World Bank Institute is offering this seminar to discuss and share experiences of secondary education reforms as well as the recently published new World Bank policy paper of secondary education.
