The Household Survey Education Profiles are ADePT Edu reports generated by EdStats for all available DHS, MICS, and LSMS. The reports are organized into four categories: school participation, progression, attainment, and education expenditure. To download the reports, please select a country from the dropdown menu below.

1. School participation
  • Gross and net attendance ratios for primary, secondary and post-secondary education
  • Proportion of out-of-school children for primary and secondary education
  • Gross and net intake ratios for the first grade of primary education
  • Survival rate to the 5th grade of primary education
  • Proportion of children on-time, under-age and over-age by each grade of primary education
  • Percentage of the population that has ever attended school by year from age 6 to age 17
2. School progression
  • Promotion, repetition, dropout and completion rates by educational level and for each grade of primary and secondary education
  • Repetition rates for post-secondary education
  • Primary to secondary transition rates>
3. School attainment
  • School attainment of the adult population
  • Average number of years of schooling by age group: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+.
  • Proportion of population age groups that completed each of grades 1 through 9.
4. Education expenditure
  • Household expenditure on education by level (primary, secondary, post-secondary

  • ADePT allows users to produce 4 types of graphs: attainment profiles for a specific age group, enrollment profiles, cohort grade survival profiles, and enrollment pyramids.
