Adopting technical standards for grid interconnection and fair transmission charges

gridInterconnection and transmission costs are important issues for grid-connected renewable energy projects because they are often located in remote areas.  While the overall issue of grid access is usually addressed in the promotional policy, details such as the portions of interconnection costs which are the responsibility of the developer and utility, the technical standards for interconnection, and the cost for transmitting power are usually addressed within particular regulatory bodies.   These issues must be clearly and fairly specified, or else they can be significant impediments to project implementation.
