
Dr. Nat Pinnoi (left), a World Bank Technical Specialist, joined an informal discussion on “carbon finance” at Chulalongkorn University’s Energy Research Institute (ERI) on August 24. The discussion, organized by the World Bank in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University, aimed to improve public understanding of the Clean Development Mechanism, an arrangement under the Kyoto Protocol designed to reduce greenhouse gas emission. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dawan Wiwattanadate (center), Deputy Director for Planning and Development Affairs, ERI, moderated the event. Khun Natee Sithiprasasana (right), Deputy Chief Executive Officer, AT Biopower, joined the panel to share the experience of his company, which operates a rice husk power plant in Pichit Province with a contract to sell credit for carbon emission reduction.
