Financial and Private Sector Development Forum 2012
The FPD Forum is the World Bank Group's biggest annual event. The theme of the FPD Forum 2012 was Getting off the Roller Coaster: Stability, Recovery, and Growth for All. Over 500 participants including World Bank colleagues, private sector development executives, and academics have met at the forum and discussed the latest challenges in financial sector and private sector development.
This session will examine the proper role of the state in financial development and the state’s performance as financial sector regulator, overseer, promoter, and owner.
Something Ventured tells the story of the creation of the industry that became the single greatest engine of innovation and economic growth in the 20th century.
Eight staff members will each give a talk about what gets them excited in working at FPD. The audience vote for their favorite. Prizes include an iPad, breakfast with Dev, etc.
