Measuring Women's Assets Workshop

The workshop brought together a small group of people who have been designing and analyzing surveys that include questions on individual asset ownership and representatives from agencies that oversee large-scale data collection efforts, such as the Living Standards Measurement Study Surveys. The workshop reviewed the state of current information on assets at the household and individual level, the key unanswered questions for which new data are required, the various approaches that have been tried in surveys, the advantages and disadvantages of each, and how to make progress in data collection.
