July 29, 2005 - The World Bank Office Bangkok organized a seminar on "Gender Equality in East Asia: New Challenge of Economic Growth and Social Change in Thailand" at Chaiyo Training Room. Kazi Matin welcomed the 30 participants and addressed an important of gender in economics. Gillian Brown presented Gender Equality: Progress and Challenges of Economic Growth and Political Change. The discussants are Prof. Pensri Phijaisanit, President of the Women's Health Advocacy Foundation, together with two professors from Thammasat University, Dr. Pawadee Thonguthai, Director of Women Studies Program, and Ms. Malee Pruekpongsawadee from Faculty of Law.
