Sustainability and Gender: Private Sector Perspectives

On March 6, 2006, the World Bank Group hosted a luncheon meeting of the Women's Network for a Sustainable Future (WNSF) in Washington, DC.

Peter van der Veen, Manager of the World Bank Oil, Gas, and Mining Policy Group, welcomed event participants, and framed the speaker presentations by posing a central question facing practitioners working towards sustainable development and women's economic empowerment: “How can we close the gender gap that exists within global poverty?”
