On November 11, 2011, people around the globe are recording the human experience over a 24-hour period and contributing their voice to the second annual global day of media creation called One Day on Earth.
One Day on Earth is an innovative and engaging global social media filmmaking effort focused on fighting poverty. On 11.11.11, the World Bank is participating on the topic of gender equality as part of our ongoing #thinkEqual gender campaign. We will be filming on the specific issue of 'Women at Work' - we will show female beneficiaries of Bank-supported programs at work and ask them one question: What does it mean for you to have a job? What difference does this work make for your life for the life of your family?
Romania is one of the 48 World Bank country offices participating in the One Day on Earth Campaign on 11.11.11. Beatrice Gabor, Public Information Assistant, met with Dr. Andreea Mitescu, who is on call saving lives at Bucharest Emergency Hospital. This medical facility benefited by funding from the World Bank financed Health Sector Reform Project - APL 2. Stay tuned for the final video from all the participating 48 World Bank country offices telling their story the importance of gender equality in their country.
