Stop Tuberculosis Partnership was created to help meet theMillennium Development Goal (MDG) relevant to tuberculosis (Goal 16, target 8)"to have halted and begun to reverse the incidence of TB by 2015". Thepartnership of over 400 partners, include, high burden countries, civilsociety, industry, foundations, technical agencies, academia, bilateral andmultilateral organizations. Theinitiative seeks to improve rapid coordinated action against the worseningglobal epidemic that kills almost 2 million people a year mainly in the poorestcommunities in the developing world. Partner recipient countries are guaranteedaccess to high quality anti-TB drugs at low cost through grants and DirectProcurement services in a timely manner.
