The XVI International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2006) in Toronto, Canada, August 13-18, 2006, is an unparalleled opportunity for those who work on AIDS to explore the latest developments in HIV science, policy and practice. 37 World Bank staff will join 24,000 delegates at AIDS 2006 to learn from others, and share information on Bank support for HIV and AIDS responses.

The Bank is organizing 9 sessions and has 2 poster exhibitions/oral presentations in the Program. Two major reports will be launched: HIV/AIDS in South Asia: Understanding and Responding to a Heterogeneous Epidemic,and Expanding Access to Antiretroviral Treatment in Thailand: Achieving Treatment Benefits while Promoting Effective Behavior Change. Our staff are also participating in the IAEN Symposium (August 11-12); the UNHCR conference on HIV/AIDS, Conflict and Displacement (August 12); the UNFPA/WHO workshop on "Making the Connection: Vulnerable Populations, HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights" (August 12).
